The third track off Ryan Hemsworth’sSECRET SONGS soundcloud page, this one’s a banger. Imagine traveling through space while skilfully dodging neon lasers as they take out all the assholes around you. Yep, a nice feeling’s what it is. It seems somewhat in trend to have artist recommended pages this days, with Diplo Approved currently at over 24,000 followers. But again, the logic’s sound. If the artist makes good music, probably listens to good music too.
Ryan Hemsworth’s page however goes beyond that. It’s fully run by him, no publicists, no press, no lables, no blogs and no premieres. Just free bi-weekly downloads for his friends. That’s the kinda friendship we can work with (:
And up till now, the tunes have been phenomenal. Full-on whack.
If you’ve not been following (been outta the friendship circle) the first track by 17 year old Tennyson was quite a pleasure as well, just gonna pop it down here. Hold on for 1.53 onwards.
“hi hi hi! this a song about missing her, cold beaches, kittens, running hugs, calculus and fruit salad”
Please teach me how not to love this kid.
P.S. what were you doing at that age? Yea. I know, samesies ):

I’ve been waiting forever to share this guy and pretty much everything he’s done with the world ! 18 year old composer/songwriter/beatmaker/violinist/singer/prodigy TomMisch may be new but he’s definitely here to stay. I’d love to say he’s fresh out and has lots to learn but he’s already been featured on Soulectionas well as on a few other keen music blogs. Rhythmic stand-off hip-hop beats and silky warm instrumentals (often synths, violin, sax and the piano), he’s created a recipe for success and all-around great soundtracks for lounging around. If you’re into the feline lifestyle (who isn’t?) then this stuff is for you. Fans of André 3000 and Mr. Carmack or those Majestic vibesshould be getting all sorts of déja-vu goosebumps to this stuff.
Here is like, all his stuff so far. In case you can’t tell. I’m a bit of a fan.
Follow him at his soundcloud here as well as his facebook. Lotta free DLs/name yo prices, go cray.
He’s currently working with Carmody on a collab EP, stay on top of it at her soundcloud here.
P.S.: Exams coming up, shall become quite scarce for a bit ❤
Australia and New Zealand has met to break the internet. 20K likes and almost 200k plays within 10 hours. Premiered during the second week of Coachella, Sydney’s prodigious electronic producer Flume has taken on the Kiwi legend (and his good mate) Lorde’s second single Tennis Court and boy is it a banger. It does not get more legit than this. It’s almost like he just went ahead and chucked in all the pecussions and synths at his disposal. (Think witch with cauldron + evil cackling). Anyways Lorde’s been recuperating in NZ after postponing her Australian tour so lets hope this insane mix knocks her socks off!
Our only complaint is that Flume doesn’t do enough of them mixes. So don’t miss out!
Check out his soundcloud here and her’s here.
Let’s put our hands together in prayer for a full length album collab between the two.
Celebrating 5000 hits on their facebook page, Toronto based Canadian duo Free N Losh have done the unthinkable. Put Bob Marley’s “Exodus” and The Beatles’ “Your Mother Should Know” in a single track. Just, trap, trap and more trap all around. With tons of massive artist names in this barely over 2 minute track, it sure is a banger. You know what else your mother should know about? All the amazing stuff the duo’s been up to. They’ve definitely hit a stride with their original You Had My Mind and have ben pretty damn prolific since. Support their cause in genuinely original productions with none of that I’ve heard that before bullshit; as well as them supporting all the artists they sample.
Don’t gotta be a fan of trap to be amazed. (:
As the name suggests, check out their soundcloud or facebook for tons of FREE DLs. All the great tunes are out for free (limited time as they may be). So if you’ve got some change to spare, don’t spend it on soda. It’s no good for you. Use it to support these guys right here!
Swedish four piece Little Dragon have been a long time favourite of mine. With tracks like Little Man still receiving well-deserved rotation on a daily basis, their upcoming album Nabuma Rubberband is exciting news. The band’s been around for just about two decades now, and has pretty much established its reputation as a benchmark in alternative pop. Yukimi Nagano the lead vocalist a figurehead in indie female crushes (don’t you dare tell me I’m alone on this!). Despite having done pretty well for themselves so far, the new album is definitely taking on a new direction with a more electronic, synth-fused and aggressive approach. With the two released tracks Paris and Klapp Klapp, I gotta say I’m rather impartial so far. However with the ever-changing nature of music, it’s not good enough to simply stick to a recipe for success and the band sure is taking a creative approach to changing up their music.
Tell us what you think, personally, I’m pretty damn keen for the album release on May 13.
There’s the band sharing their creative process. Look out for more leaks right here.
