We don’t have much to go on when it comes to London based act Johnny Lloyd. We’ve got his facebook and twitter page but that’s about as far as it goes. What we do know, is that he’s currently on tour playing through UK, Germany, and France. With only two tracks on his soundcloud to go on, it’s remarkable how well he’s demonstrated his ability to go far. It’s gonna be a lot easier letting the music speak for itself. Nostalgia is impeccably cued at the 2.33 mark, just wait for it.
*edit* Johnny’s just coming off the success as previous lead guitar/vocalist of Camden based four piece alternative rock band Tribes that split in 2013. Given it’s quite a different sound but HOW DID WE NOT SEE THIS.
Almost can’t help but say “Remember when music used to be good?”
If you’re hooked and in Europe currently, get tickets to catch him here.

I’ve been waiting forever to share this guy and pretty much everything he’s done with the world ! 18 year old composer/songwriter/beatmaker/violinist/singer/prodigy TomMisch may be new but he’s definitely here to stay. I’d love to say he’s fresh out and has lots to learn but he’s already been featured on Soulectionas well as on a few other keen music blogs. Rhythmic stand-off hip-hop beats and silky warm instrumentals (often synths, violin, sax and the piano), he’s created a recipe for success and all-around great soundtracks for lounging around. If you’re into the feline lifestyle (who isn’t?) then this stuff is for you. Fans of André 3000 and Mr. Carmack or those Majestic vibesshould be getting all sorts of déja-vu goosebumps to this stuff.
Here is like, all his stuff so far. In case you can’t tell. I’m a bit of a fan.
Follow him at his soundcloud here as well as his facebook. Lotta free DLs/name yo prices, go cray.
He’s currently working with Carmody on a collab EP, stay on top of it at her soundcloud here.
P.S.: Exams coming up, shall become quite scarce for a bit ❤
As feature previously here, he is possibly the most unique dubstep artist you’re going to find out there today. Not to put anything against Sonny Moore (soz. very creative new album btw.) but the genre can sound like more than just robots going to third base. When LA based Crywolf gets weaves together tracks like this, the robots suddenly become Wall-E and the jarring sounds are immediately graceful, melancholic and therapeutical,
Like the track suggests, close your eyes and cue the waterworks. Just all the feels.
The track’s being given out for free here as long as you purchase the upcoming six track EP Angels due release April 29th.
Follow him at his soundcloud here.
Jamie xx collaborates with London based artist/poet Sofia Mattioli to produce the video for his first solo single in three years, the groundbreaking track Sleep Sounds. Mattioli’s chance encounter with a deaf lady on the train ride gave birth to this music video that harnesses the power of silence. With the help of the Manchester Deaf Centre, the 13 deaf dancers respond to the “vibrations in the air given off by the song”, and create this 8 minute clip that could not be any more apt. Try making it through the entire clip without an anxiety attack.
Jamie xx’s two track 12” vinyl/DL “Sleep Sound/Girl” drops May 5th, stay posted here.
Definitely not the first time I’ve had these guys on our blog. Check out what we had to say about them in a previous post. New York based folk/dream pop group Wilsen are back almost more than a year of absence and boy are we glad. Magnolia being the title track of a brand new four-track EP (following their mini-album Sirens) is to be released on the 18th of May. Exciting times. This track here’s definitely a track to fall indefinitely to, like off a really really tall building. Not trying to encourage any daredevils to challenge gravity here but that’s what quality dream pop does for you. Fans of Youth Lagoon and Beach House are gonna melt.
These guys are new, but if you’ve been paying any attention at all. They’re good.
Show them some love at facebook. soundcloud. twitter. Go, you know you want to (:
If you’re in the UK check them out in person at any of these chain of debut shows they’ll be playing at.
Having previously supported Daughter, London Grammar and many moreon tour.
You know it’s time to jump on that bandwagon.
