Indie pop/ Electronic / Nu Disco
Detroit based indie electronic duo Dale Earnhart Jr. Jr. comprises of Daniel Zott and Joshua Epstein. They’re known for flamboyant performances (inclusive of costumes) and tracks that get you up and moving. In a boogie shoes sorta way. I’ve always visualized them as the LMFAO of funk. Their music consists of airy vocals and intricate melodies coupled with synth beats, electric guitar picking; and unless I’m mistaken, xylophones. The general atmosphere of their music is playful, energetic and perfect for some non-sleazy dancing. (Sorry Lover boy) This new track however is a bit different from what I’d expected, it sounds a bit like Absofacto up till the 52 second mark then transits to a more STRFKR-esque cheerful atmosphere. As an audiophile it’s great to see that they’re exploring new genres and obviously succeeding at doing so.
If You Didn’t See Me (Then You Weren’t On The Dancefloor) is the band’s newest single to be released in their upcoming Patterns EP on the 16th of April. If you like what you’ve heard follow them at their soundcloud here.
Below’s their new track and 2 others good ones thrown in for your listening pleasure (:
